Candy Sushi

Candy Sushi is not the easiest thing to make. Here are some pictures of my adorable neighbors keeping me company while Ryan is out of town. We tried our best and they had a blast. And a serious sugar high!

Here's a tip for the next time: Make your Rice Krispie Treats with way more butter and marshmallow than you normally would. Pliable and thin work best.

Fluffy the Second

Fluffy the First didn't make it. He passed away today by unknown causes. And no - it wasn't Gus! Fluffy the Second has taken to the tank and seems to be adjusting to his surroundings. Here's Gus meting him. I don't think he's buying it and knows he's been switched.

4th of July

Ryan and I went to the Intercontinental Montelucia and took advantage of their great we're-getting-killed-by-the-recession deals! The resort was beautiful, the rooms were amazing, and they had some of the best food I've ever eaten! We didn't get many pictures since it was just the 2 of us and we were in the pool most of the day, but here we are at the entrance and in the room...

Gus' First Pet

Gus has proved himself to be responsible and trustworthy so Ryan and I have gotten him his first pet!  Actually, he's been a little bored, so we got him a fish.  It's name is Fluffy and Gus loves watching him!  

Yes, Ryan and I know this sounds crazy, but it provides endless entertainment when you aren't allowed outside.  :)

Ava

Well, Ava has yet again found herself in the hospital.  This time, she contracted cellulitis which got into her ankle joint.  She needed surgery to clean out the infection, but luckily it didn't get into her bone!  She had a pic line put in yesterday and is seeming to be in her usual great spirits!

Julia is being a very good big sister and even baked Ava a pink cake to help her feel better.  Unfortunately, that picture is on my camera which had to be sent into Nikon for repair.  Seriously!?  At least this one didn't get stolen!

Long time no post...

Hello!  It's been a crazy amount of time, I know.  Lots has happened, so I'll recap:

I turned 30.  Yikes.  Luckily, I have amazing friends who helped ease me into it with a rousing last night as a 20-something and a fun day of celebrating the first day of my 30's.  We went on a bike-patio crawl through central phoenix and enjoyed the nice weather.  Here are some pics:

 

We bought a house!  The plans are still up in the air - remodel and sell, keep, who knows.  It'll depend on whether or not Luke Ave sells.  This new house is in a great location, but in need of some serious TLC.  Here are some before shots:

The kitchen is a disaster, the floor-plan's a mess - but it's gonna be great!  I'll keep posting the changes we'll make! 

Ryan and I celebrated 2 big anniversaries - our 4th, and Gus' 1st.  Can you believe we've had Gus for a year?!  Here what he looked like the first week we had him and here's what he looks like now

Can you believe it!?  Our little boy is all grown up.  (Yes, I'm that sappy over a cat) Our niece also hit a big milestone and turned one.  Time has been flying!  I'll be better about the blog posts - promises, promises!  Hope all is well with everyone!
